Car Nerd is an independent publication reporting on Porsche cars: the 911 and the GT range, the cars themselves, and the market for them. It is published by Car Nerd, Inc., Chicago, Illinois, and funded by its readers.

What we publish

Investigations into specific cars, sellers and sales, built from public records. Market reports that describe what Porsche GT cars sold for, drawn from public auction results and dated so you know when the numbers were true. Guides to each generation, written as reporting rather than spec sheets. Short news items when something in the Porsche GT world changes.

How we work

We start with the record: public auction results, government registrations and recalls, court and corporate filings, and the documents that travel with a car. Where a public record exists, the figure on our page links to it so you can check it yourself. Mileage and condition are reported as the source stated them. When a record is thin or a conclusion is an inference, we say so in the text.

Car Nerd describes what the record shows. It does not tell readers what to buy, predict prices, or offer valuations. Nothing on this site is financial or purchasing advice.

Independence

Car Nerd accepts no advertising, listing fees, sponsorship or referral payments from dealers, consignment businesses or auction platforms. The site is free to read with a free account and supported by readers.

Who writes it

Will Burnham is the pen name of Car Nerd's founder and editor. The name is borrowed from Daniel Burnham, the architect who planned the city Car Nerd is published from. The publication uses a pen name so that its reporting stands on the record it cites rather than on who wrote it. One person is behind the byline, reachable at the address below, and the publisher of record is Car Nerd, Inc.
